Treadmill Set Up and Weight Loss

Well it's been a few days and I haven't really blogged or do much of anything else. Today was my birthday and I decided to take the day off from all dieting, and I ate like a pig. Well I haven't had a chance to really set up the treadmill until today. I did some rearranging in the garage and I'm now able to use it. I'm a little psyched because tomorrow I am going to get on the treadmill and start to use it for at least 20 minutes per day. I'm also been working on my actual food intake as well, and I'm happy to report I'm doing well with that.

So far from only watching what I eat and cutting out as much sugar as I can, I've lost a couple pounds already. I'm very excited to see what weight-loss will come about when I actually start doing my exercise on top of eating right.

On a side note I started to read the book Salt Sugar Fat by Michael Moore this week. It is really opened my eyes to how awful processed food is and how bad it is for you. The book is a fantastic read so far and I want to talk about a little bit about it as I get through the book. If you have any interest in conspiracy theories or how the food industry works I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Well tomorrow is another day and I'm going to get back on here tomorrow and let you know how my workout went.

Starting My Weight Loss Journey Today

Today is the day that I decided to start with my weight loss plan. I've also decided this time unlike the last couple times to actually write a blog and make myself very aware of what I'm doing on a day-to-day basis. In the past I went from 212 pounds all the way down to 189 pounds. I lost sight of what I was doing and now I'm back up to over 200 pounds. I am going to try and get my goal of 175 pounds by the end of the summer. I know that goal is aggressive, but I am going to do my best to reach it. Unlike last time this time I have a goal and a workout regimen I plan on doing along with it.

My Plan:

My plan is not the most scientific but it is effective in my opinion. I'm going to watch what I eat, and I'm going to exercise. These two things are what every doctor says you should do to get back into shape, and lose weight. I plan on using the treadmill in my house versus spending money on a gym like planet fitness. I think that if I can commit myself to using the treadmill for about a half an hour to 45 minutes a day I will be able to drastically reduce my weight.

My treadmill:

It's funny that some people spend a lot of money to get started exercising at home, but I've taken a completely opposite approach. Since I don't have a lot of cash I picked a used treadmill up on Craigslist for about $75 last year. I plan on using this treadmill that is not the most up-to-date, but still works. I truly believe that it is not always the tool but the person who uses it that makes all the difference. So I just wanted to let anyone know who happens to read this that I'm not using anything that is expensive or hard to get and you can do it too by simply looking at craigslist and finding a cheap one.

Called that was about it for today's first post Ivean healthy today by having a nice wholesome rolled oats oatmeal with some raisins and a little bit unnatural maple syrup. Throughout the day I've had some homemade green iced tea, and a protein bar for dinner.

Tomorrow when I come home from work I plan on setting up my little home gym in the garage with my treadmill that is been gathering dust. I will make a blog post tomorrow just so I get into the habit of doing this and talking about my progress every day. I've put a picture on here of the scale I'm going to be using my starting weight. I hope I can come through on my goals and finally make a difference not only in my life, but in the people around me by being healthier and living longer.
